This time of year, I think about the magic of the season; I think about how important life is; and, I think about how grateful I am for my family and friends.
To me, Christmas is a holiday for all faiths. It’s about a Jewish baby who grows up to be a Jewish man who loves his faith. He’s inspired to fix some things, to get his people back on track and he does it with the simplest of messages. Love God and love each other. Everything else he talked about pointed to those two rules. Even when faced with unthinkable adversity, he had passion for those two rules. I believe he wanted to be a unifier, only in the end, he created a divide. Since then faith has continued to divide more often than unite. When it comes to religion, it seems the devil really is in the details.
Christmas isn’t about the details. It’s about the original message. So regardless of your faith, I wish for you a season that reminds you to feel in awe of something bigger, that reminds you to feel humbled by the gift of your life, and that reminds you to love.
