Climb uphill this year

I feel lucky to start the New Year in Colorado Springs, climbing The Incline with old friends. The steps go one mile up at a 45 degree angle, plus you’re climbing with the added challenge of altitude! The reward is the view and the accomplishment. So step out of your comfort zone this year and climb uphill. Challenge yourself like you’ve never challenged yourself before. One step at a time, with confidence, stopping along the way to re-group, and trying again and again. At the top, you’ll find happiness.

If you need some motivation, join the February Challenge on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/februarychallenge). It’s a year long event this year, for the first time. And January is about organization. Let’s get rid of the “stuff” that keeps us from life.

Happy New Year!!

Be grateful

It’s April 20th and we woke up to about a foot of snow.  We’d like to be golfing and biking.  We’re tired of winter so the storm is annoying.  Maybe it’s Mother Nature’s way of saying, “Slow down, be grateful, look at the gift I just gave you.  It’s beautiful.”

Yes it is.

A little nature

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

I woke up early yesterday to the sound of rain, threw on my running shoes and headed out to High Cliff State Park.  I knew the rain would keep people away but I also knew the canopy of the trees would keep me dry.  I have done this run many times.  I love the sounds created by a spring rain.  There is nothing better for my soul than running in the woods listening to the concert created by the rain falling on the leaves and wind blowing the branches above.  After a while you know you are part of something bigger.

All we need is a little nature…it’s free therapy :)
