The 2012 Challenge
The annual opportunity to take stock in your life, to set the wheels in motion to become the best possible version of yourself is back. This year marks the 13th anniversary of the Challenge and instead of just focusing on the month of February, it will continue all year. Each month will have a unique focus.. Of course February will still be about losing a few pounds because:
- We were naughty over the holiday season
- It’s the dead of winter
- After February, it’s March and shorts weather is just around the corner
- You can do anything for 4 weeks
Rules (pick at least three to play):
1. Exercise 1 hour/day – five days a week. Anything that gets your heart rate up counts.
2. Eat 8 servings of fruits/veggies a day – everyday. A serving is 1/2 cup.
3. Be a mindful eater – no multi-tasking while eating, i.e., watching tv, driving, studying.
4. No fried anything! They say you shouldn’t deny yourself anything but come on!!
5. Weight loss option: Journal all calories. Women eat 1200-1600/day, Men eat 1800- 2200/day
Work hard for the month of February and you can change a few habits. That’s all it takes to change your life!
But what about the rest of the year? Becoming the best possible version of yourself is about balance and for most of us balance can be a fleeting thing. Do you have some habits that get in the way? I do.
So this year we’re starting in January and focusing on life…your life. Each month will offer it’s own challenge with the goal being to bring your life into better balance by the end of the year.
